The lacewing butterfly is aptly named because of the patterning which makes its wings look like lace. It is also sometimes called the batik lacewing because the lacy pattern looks a lot like the traditional batik printing that you find on many fabrics. This beautiful butterfly in yellows, oranges blacks and whites is usually found from North India to the Philippines.

This beautiful butterfly likes the nectar from the passion plant family. Its Latin name is Cethosia biblis and it is from the family Nymphalidae. He likes to hang around at the forest edges basking his beautiful wings in the sunlight. This butterfly has a wingspan of 56 to 63 mm.
